Zoom for Employees

Zoom is a secure video conferencing platform that allows participants to collaborate, share screens, and conduct group activities from nearly any device. UFV Zoom accounts allow you to host meetings. People attending your meeting (including students) will not require an account or license to join. Employees can access Zoom on their UFV Computers, but you can also download and install Zoom on your desktop or mobile phones.

IMPORTANT!

UFV Zoom account will only let you sign in on one account only. If you are logged into Zoom in a browser, your login to the Zoom application will fail and vice-versa.

Log in to Zoom using a Web Browser

1.  Visit https://ufv-ca.zoom.us/

2.  Click on 'Sign in'

3.  Login with your credentials

For employees: Username: lastnamefirstinitial eg. smithj and outlook password

You should now be able to successfully log in to Zoom. If you receive an error message, please check here for instructions on troubleshooting an error received.

 

Log in to Zoom Desktop Application

1.  For personal devices, the Zoom application can be installed here.

2.  On Windows, click the 'Start' icon. Then type 'Zoom' in the search bar and then click Open.

 On Mac, use the 'Search' icon on the top right to find and open Zoom. 

3.  Once you open Zoom, Click on Sign-In with SSO.

4.  Put ufv-ca as a domain name

5.  Login with your credentials as below:

For employees: Username: lastnamefirstinitial eg. smithj and outlook password

If you receive an error message, please check here for instructions on troubleshooting an error received.

6.  Click on 'Open Zoom Meetings'. This will open the desktop app.

You are now successfully logged in. 


 

 

Log in to Zoom using a Phone

    1.  Open/install Zoom Cloud meetings app on your phone ( NOTE: There are two zoom apps - You would need the one with cloud meetings)
    
    2.  Navigate at the bottom to "Sign In With SSO".


    
  

   3.  Enter the company's domain: ufv-ca (Note - Zoom.us is already pre-filled)
    
   4.  Sign in on the webpage with your credentials as below:

If you receive an error message, please check here for instructions on troubleshooting an error received.

   5.  Allow all notifications for the app.
 

Troubleshooting an error received when signing in

If you receive an error below when signing in, please follow the steps listed below:

 

1. Close all the browser windows with zoom error messages.

2. Open a new browser window and you must go to this link to log out of the open Zoom account. Please bookmark this URL for future use: https://ufvfim.ufv.ca/adfs/ls/?wa=wsignout1.0

3. Close the sign-out page.

4. If you are using the Zoom Desktop Application:

  • Open the Zoom application and again try steps 3, 4 for Sign in with SSO.

    If you are using Zoom in a Web Browser:

    If you are using the Zoom on Phone:

  • Open the Zoom application and again try steps 2 to 4 for Sign in with SSO.

5. You should now see a UFV login window.

6. Now, ensure that you login with your network username and password as below:

  • Username: LastnameFirstInitial (e.g. smithj)
  • Password: Network Login Password.
