Zoom Employee Install Guide

Guide for employees to download, install and log into Zoom video conferencing application.

Zoom Workplace is a secure video conferencing platform supporting virtual meetings, screen sharing, and collaboration from different devices.

UFV employees have access to licensed Zoom accounts, allowing them to host meetings for classes, team collaboration, or events.

Participants, including students, do not need a Zoom account or license to join a meeting - they can simply click the meeting link to join.

Zoom is pre-installed on UFV-issued computers.

Below are instructions for also downloading and installing Zoom on your personal desktop or mobile device.

Open Zoom on a UFV-issued computer

1.Once you are logged into a UFV-issued computer, click Start.

2. In the Search field, enter Zoom.

3. Open Zoom Workplace.

Join a meeting allows one to join a meeting without a Zoom account.

Sign in allows for one to sign into an existing Zoom account.

Your UFV Zoom Login and Password

To log into Zoom as an employee, use your UFV credentials:

Username: UFV employee email address
Password: UFV email account password

Username is your UFV email address 

Zoom password

Enter MFA code

Install Zoom on a Personal Device

1. Visit the Zoom download webpage.

If your system is 64-bit, click the blue Download 64-bit button.

If your system is 32-bit, click the blue Download 32-bit button.

Once the Zoom exe file has been downloaded, click and run the installer.

Zoom will automatically open once it has finished installing.

Use Zoom in a Web Browser

1. Visit the UFV Video Conferencing web page for Zoom.

2. Click the green Sign in button.

3. Login using your employee UFV credentials.

4. You should now be logged into Zoom.

Use Zoom Desktop Application

1. For personal devices, the Zoom application can be installed at zoom.us.

On Windows, click the Start icon. Then type Zoom in the search bar and then click Open.

On Mac, use the Search icon on the top right to find and open Zoom. 

2. Once you open Zoom, Click on Sign-In with SSO.

3. Type ufv-ca as a domain name.

4. Login with your employee UFV credentials.

5. Click on Open Zoom Meetings. This will open the desktop app.

6. You are now successfully logged in.

Use Zoom on a Mobile Device

The Zoom Workplace app is available on both iOS and Android. This app replaces the older “Zoom Cloud Meetings” app.

1. Visit the Zoom download webpage and go to the Zoom Workplace for mobile section.

2. Choose either App Store or Google Play and install the software.

3. Go to bottom of app and click on Sign In With SSO.

4. Enter the company's domain: ufv-ca (NoteZoom.us is already pre-filled)

5. Login with your employee UFV credentials.

6. Allow all notifications for the app.
