Welcome to UFV!
New students benefit from the technology resources UFV provides during their studies at the University of the Fraser Valley.
Below is an overview of the most popular items students refer to:
Finding Your UFV Student ID and Email
Once you’re admitted, you’ll receive a UFV Welcome Email at your personal (non-UFV) email address.
This message includes:
Your UFV Student ID (9 digits)
Your UFV Student Email Address
Can’t find your welcome email from noreply@ufv.ca?
Your UFV student email address is also your UFV computer account username.
Your Student ID will be used to verify your identity and create your initial account passphrase or password.
Creating Your UFV Computer Account
If you’ve never logged into any UFV account, you’ll need to create your UFV computer account by setting a strong password or passphrase.
What’s the difference?
- Password: A short mix of letters, numbers, and symbols (e.g.,
P@ssw0rd).
- Passphrase: A longer phrase made of random but meaningful words (e.g.,
SunnyDayAtTheBeach).
✅ Passphrases are recommended because they’re easier to remember and harder for others to guess.

Setting Account security with Multi-Factor Authentication

What does MFA do?
- When you log in, you’ll receive a one-time code or notification on your mobile device to confirm it’s really you.
- MFA also lets you reset your password yourself if needed.
Click the green button to go to the Knowledge Base article with instructions on how to setup MFA for your device type.

Updating your Multi-Factor Authentication Settings?

Note: Once your MFA methods have been reset, you will need to re-register for MFA before accessing services.
