You can add your UFV email to popular email apps for easy access to your emails on your computer, phone, or tablet. Follow the instructions below to add your UFV email to a mail app:
Note: UFV supports the Outlook app, available on Android and iOS. Instructions and troubleshooting for applications other than Outlook is offered at best effort only. The IT Service Desk may not be able to support your app if you encounter an issue. If the application does not work with your account or your device, the solution will be to use Outlook desktop, mobile, or on the web.
Outlook mobile app (recommended)
- Launch the Outlook app
- Open the Menu and tap Settings
- Tap Add Account
- Follow the on-screen prompts to connect your UFV email:
- Enter your full UFV email address (e.g., jane.doe@student.ufv.ca) and password
- Follow any additional on-screen prompts to complete the setup.
Gmail mobile app
- Launch the Gmail app
- Tap the Menu icon (three horizontal lines) in the upper-left corner of the screen.
- Scroll down and select Settings
- Tap Add account.
- Select Exchange and Office 365 from the list of email providers.
- Enter your full UFV email address (e.g., jane.doe@student.ufv.ca) and password
- Follow any additional on-screen prompts to complete the setup.
Apple mail/iCloud mail app
- Open the Settings on your iPhone or iPad
- Go to Apps > Mail
- Tap Add account
- Select Microsoft Exchange from the list of email providers
- Follow the on-screen prompts to connect your UFV email:
- Enter your full UFV email address and password
- Follow any additional on-screen prompts to complete the setup
Yahoo mobile app
- Launch the Yahoo app
- Tap your profile icon
- Tap + Add another mailbox
- Select Office 365 from the list of email providers
- Follow the on-screen prompts to connect your UFV email:
- Enter your full UFV email address (e.g., jane.doe@student.ufv.ca) and password
- Follow any additional on-screen prompts to complete the setup
Other mail apps (not listed here)
There are many email applications available, so we cannot provide instructions for every app. If your app supports adding an Exchange Online or Office 365/Microsoft 365 account, it may be possible to add your UFV account. However, the IT Service Desk may not be able to support your app if you encounter an issue. If the application does not work with your account or your device, the solution will be to use Outlook desktop, mobile, or on the web.
