UFV Zoom for Students
A UFV Zoom account will allow you to host and record your own UFV Zoom meeting or to join a scheduled UFV Zoom meeting.
People attending your meeting as well as participants will not require an account or license to join.
You must be a current UFV student, enrolled in the current semester, to have access to use UFV Zoom.
i.e. If you are not a current student, a "You are not authorized to access this site..." error will appear.
Your UFV Zoom account will only let you sign in on ONE account only.
i.e. If you are logged into Zoom in a browser, your login to the Zoom application will fail and vice-versa.
Zoom is installed on computers in UFV labs, but you can download and configure the Zoom app onto your own device.
Step 1: Download the Zoom Desktop App
1. Go to the Download Center for Zoom Apps.
2. On a desktop computer, click either the Download (64-bit) or the Download (32-bit) blue button.
Note: The majority of new laptops are 64-bit. If you are unsure, click the System Requirements link or Zoom support article for more information.

3. The ZoomInstallerFull.exe file will save to your device.
4. Once the download is complete, find your installer file on your device.
Note: Depending on your type of browser, you may need to check your browser download folder to find this file.

5. Click the ZoomInstallerFull.exe to start the installation of the Zoom application onto your device.
6. Wait for the installation to complete.
7. If you encounter install errors and need assistance, contact IT Service Desk.
Step 2: Go to Zoom in a web browser
1. Visit the UFV Zoom Video Conferencing.
2. Click the Sign in button.

3. Log in with your credentials:
Username:
UFV student email address

Password:
UFV student email password

Note: You may have to enter your security authentication information for the MFA (Multi-Factor Authentication).

Step 3: Configure your Zoom Account
Note: You will also need to configure your UFV Zoom on your device.
1. Start the Zoom application on your device:
For Windows devices, click the Start icon , type Zoom in the search bar and click Open.
For Mac devices, use the Search icon to find and open Zoom.
2. Once Zoom is opened, click Sign-In:

3. Click Sign-In with SSO.

4. Ensure ufv-ca is the domain name.

5. Login with your credentials:
Username:
UFV student email address

Password:
UFV student email password

Note: You may have to enter your security authentication information for the MFA (Multi-Factor Authentication).

6. Click Open Zoom Meetings to open the desktop app.

7. Your screen will similar to the one below.

Optional: Download Zoom App on a mobile device
1. Visit Zoom Download Center and choose to:
Download from Google Play

Download from App Store

3. Open the Zoom app on your device and click to Sign in.
Remember: Configure your Zoom app by going to Sign In With SSO and entering the Company domain as ufv-ca (Zoom.us is already pre-filled).
4. Sign in with your UFV student email address and password and possibly your authentication code for MFA.
Note: Allow all notifications for your app.
