Microsoft 365 (M365)

Overview

Microsoft 365 (M365) is a comprehensive suite of productivity tools offered to UFV staff and students to support their daily work activities. M365 is designed to enhance efficiency, foster teamwork, and provide a secure environment for managing documents and projects. 

Employees: M365 for Employees account provides access to essential Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Excel, OneNote, Outlook, PowerPoint, PowerBI, Projects, Teams, and more.

Students: M365 for Students account provides access to popular Microsoft Office applications: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote, Outlook, Teams, OneDrive, Publisher (PC download only), and Access (PC download only).

Features 

• Microsoft’s Online Productivity Suite: Collection of office-related applications used to create documents, presentations, spreadsheets, databases, and more. Your M365 account gives you access to Microsoft applications such as: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote, etc. 
• Outlook: Manage email, calendar, tasks, and contacts all in one place with Microsoft Outlook. Employees can access their email through the Outlook application, Outlook on the Web, and via the myUFV portal. 
• Microsoft Teams: Collaboration tool that brings your team together with shared workspaces, online meetings, audio and video calls, and seamless file sharing. 
• OneDrive: Cloud-based storage system that allows you to securely store, share, and access your files and documents from anywhere, on any device. 
• Power BI: Powerful business analytical tool from Microsoft that enables users to visualize data, insights, create interactive reports and dashboards. 
• Microsoft SharePoint: Use to create websites. It can be used as a secure place to store, organize, share, and access information from any device. 
• Microsoft Projects: Project management software tool that helps you plan, track, and manage projects efficiently.  
• Microsoft Visio: Diagramming tool that allows you to create professional flowcharts, org charts, network diagrams, and more. Only web version is included in the M365 license. 
• Microsoft Power Automate:  Workflow automation tool that helps you to streamline repetitive tasks and processes.  
• Microsoft Authenticator: Security app that provides two-factor authentication (2FA) to help protect your accounts. 

Who can use this service? 

Students, faculty, and staff 

How do I request or access this service? 

Employees: No permission required. Microsoft 365 suite is provided to all UFV employees. 

Note: Microsoft Projects and Visio are not included in the general M365 license and can be purchased separately through Software Purchase Request. 

Students: Visit the M365 for Students service for student-specific information.
