INSTRUCTOR USE ONLY
All courses listed on the UFV timetable will have a myClass (Blackboard) course shell created automatically. If you log into myClass and do not see your course listed, please contact Scheduling.
Use this service to request a development shell for a course. Development shells are manually created by ITS and are used by instructors that want to prepare a course that is not yet available. Development shells will have no students enrolled.
CONSIDERATIONS: Development shells do not have term dates set; therefore, the shell will remain on your course list as a past course and will be archived after two years.
TIP: Development shells can be used to create a master course template of a past course. To do this, perform a course copy from the past course into the development shell. You can course copy into the live course when it becomes available.
Information Required
UFV faculty can complete the Development Shell request form to request a development shell for course preparation prior to the live course availability. Please provide the following information when filling out the form:
- Primary instructor name
- Preferred course shell name
- Development shell purpose
- Instructor name(s) (empl ID or email address)
- Student name(s) and ID or email address (if applicable)
- Student course role (if applicable)
- Course to copy from (if applicable)
