Overview
IT Services can assist UFV employees and departments with software installs for previously purchased or free software not included on the standard UFV computer. Use this service to request assistance with this type of software install.
NOTE: Check Software Centre or the Microsoft Store (free software only) for software that is available to you and can be installed without IT Services assistance. You can also use the Make Me Admin tool to install software without IT Service Desk assistance.
You must submit a software purchase request for paid or subscription based software that is not part of UFV provided software.
Information Required
UFV employees can complete the Software Install form to request installation of previously purchased or free software. Please provide the following information when filling out the form:
- Employee name(s)
- Department
- Office number (if applicable)
- Workstation ID
- Requested date of installation
- Software name and version
- Software website / URL
- Software purpose / justification (for new software)
Instructions
Click on the "Software Install Request" button and complete all required fields on the form. After your request has been reviewed and approved, the software will be available to you in Software Centre.

Contact the IT Service Desk, or check the ticket status in the Online Portal for updates.
