By backing up files and folders to OneDrive, you can access them across all your devices.

Manage OneDrive PC Folder Backup
Follow the steps below to back up relevant files to the One Drive:
- Click on the OneDrive cloud icon in your notification area, select the OneDrive Help and Settings icon , and then click on Settings from the drop-down menu.
- Click the Sync and backup tab.
- Select Manage backup.
- To start backing up a folder, toggle any folder that says Not backed up, and select Save changes.
- To stop backing up a folder, select the toggle for the folder to turn it off.
After your files are backed up, you can access them from anywhere in Documents, or Desktop. Backing up your Desktop folder means the items on your desktop roam with you to your other desktops where you are running OneDrive.
You can access your OneDrive using File Explorer or OneDrive Web login.
Follow the steps below to back up relevant files to the Department Drive:

Identify Files and Folders: Locate essential files in common folders such as Desktop, Documents, Pictures, and Downloads.

Select Multiple Files: Hold down the Ctrl key and click the left mouse button to select multiple files.

Copy Files: Release the Ctrl key and press Ctrl+C to copy the selected files. Or right-click on the selected files and choose the copy option.

Navigate to Department Drive: Access the Department Drive where you want to store the backup.

Create or Choose a Folder: Make a new folder or choose an existing one based on your needs.

Paste Files: Press Ctrl+V to paste the copied files into the selected location on the Department Drive.
Note: The external drive should be used for personal data only.
Follow the steps below to back up personal data to the External Drive:

Identify Files and Folders: Locate important files in folders like Desktop, Documents, Pictures, and Downloads.

Create a Dated Folder: Make a new folder with today’s date (e.g., Backup20240124).

Paste Files into Dated Folder: Press Ctrl+V to paste the copied files into the newly created dated folder.
