Installing Minitab 21 on Windows

This article shows the process of installing Minitab 21 software on a personal Windows computer for employees and students. Software install files can be obtained from gateway.ufv.ca by following the steps below:

1. Go to gateway.ufv.ca
2. Login using the credentials as listed below:
   1. Student
      • Username: Student ID (e.g. 300123456)
      • Password: myUFV password
   2. Employee
      • Username: AD username i.e. lastnameFirstInitial/s (e.g. doej)
      • Password: UFV email password
3. For Students navigate to Student\Instructor_files\MinitabDepot\Home Use\WINDOWS\Minitab 21
   • For Employees navigate to Employee\Public\Campus Software\_licensed\CAMPUS\Minitab 21
4. Right-click minitab21.exe to download. 
5. Locate and double-click on minitab21.exe to begin the installation. 
6. Click on Next. 
7. Click on Next again. 
8. Check I accept the terms in the license agreement and acknowledge the Privacy Policy and click on Next. 
9. Select Activate with a license and click Next. 
10. Select Sign In and Click Next. 
11. Click Next to install in the default location. 
12. Click on Install to begin the installation. 
13. Click Finish. 
14. Click on the start menu and search for Minitab Statistical Software, by typing minitab. 
15. Open Minitab and you will be presented with an Authentication-required window. Click on Sign In... button.  
16. You will be taken to a Sign-in portal in your web browser, sign in with your UFV student/employee email address, and fill password when prompted.
    • Employees: Employees will log in with their UFV email addresses e.g. john.doe@ufv.ca 
    • Students: Students will also log in with their UFV email addresses e.g. john.doe@student.ufv.ca  
    • Student Password Reset: Please go to password.ufv.ca to reset your student email password. 
    • Employee Password Reset: Please go to the article Reset your UFV email account password - SSPR for student and employee to reset your employee email password.

Do not use Minitab Portal's Forgot Password to reset your employee or student email password. 
Once the Sign In is complete you can close the browser and start using Minitab.
