Current UFV students and employees can securely connect and use wireless internet on UFV campuses through a free international Wi-Fi service called eduroam.
Note: Your initial UFV Wi-Fi setup must be done while on a UFV campus.
After setup, your UFV eduroam credentials for Wi-Fi can also be used at other eduroam participating institutions.
Connect your device to UFV eduroam Wi-Fi
Follow the instructions for your type of mobile device:
Connect to UFV Wi-Fi:
iPhone and iPad
1. Open Wi-Fi settings.
2. Select eduroam-help.
3. Open a web browser (Safari, Chrome, Firefox, Edge etc.).
4. Navigate to https://cat.eduroam.org/
5. Select the Click here to download your eduroam installer button.
6. Search fraser and click University of the Fraser Valley from search results.
7. Click eduroam button.
8. Click Allow when prompted to allow or ignore downloading a configuration profile,
9. Once profile has finished downloading, open Settings app on your iPhone.
10. Go to Settings → General → VPN & Device Management (or Device Management).
11. Click on Eduroam Profile.
12. Click on Install on top right.
13. Enter your passcode.
14. Click on Install on top right, again.
15. Click Install on the bottom popup, again.
16. Enter your student or employee email.
17. Click next and enter your student or employee email password.
18. Click Done.
You should now be connected to eduroam.
Connect to UFV Wi-Fi:
Android
Note: Before proceeding with following steps, please first install the geteduroam app.

1. Open Wi-Fi settings.
2. Select eduroam-help.
3. Open a web browser (Safari, Chrome, Firefox, Edge etc.).
4. Navigate to https://cat.eduroam.org/
5. Click Click here to download your eduroam installer button.
6. Search fraser and click University of the Fraser Valley from search results.
7. Click eduroam button.
8. A box will appear below eduroam button and ask you to download geteduroam app which you should have already done at this point.
9. Click Continue on the box that appeared.
10. Click Download to download the configuration file.
11. Go to Downloads in your browser and click the eduroam-eap-generic file.
12. getEduroam app will open and ask you to enter your credentials.
13. Enter your UFV employee or student email for your username and then your password.
14. A popup will appear asking you to save the network.
15. Click Save.
You should now be connected to eduroam.
Connect to UFV Wi-Fi:
MacOS
1. Click on Wi-Fi icon in Control Center on top right corner of the screen.
2. Select eduroam-help.
3. Open Safari.
4. Navigate to https://cat.eduroam.org/
5. Click Click here to download your eduroam installer button.
6. Search fraser and click University of the Fraser Valley from search results.
7. Click eduroam button.
8. Click Allow when you are prompted to allow or ignore downloads from cat.eduroam.org.
9. Once it has finished downloading, open Settings app on your Mac.
10. Go to Settings → Privacy & Security → Profiles.
11. Double-click on Eduroam Profile.
12. Click on Install.
13. Click Continue.
14. Enter your student or employee email for username and enter your password.
15. Click Install.
You should now be connected to eduroam.
Connect to UFV Wi-Fi:
Windows
1. Click on Wi-Fi icon in icon tray on top bottom right corner of the screen.
2. Click on the right-pointing arrow next to Wi-Fi (make sure Wi-Fi is on)
3. Select eduroam-help and click connect.
4. Open Edge.
5. Navigate to https://cat.eduroam.org/
6. Click Click here to download your eduroam installer button.
7. Search fraser and click University of the Fraser Valley from search results.
8. Click on eduroam button.
9. Click Open when executable file has finished downloading.
10. Click Next on the popup.
11. Click Ok.
12. Enter your UFV student or employee email in username and enter password twice.
13. Click Install.
14. Click Yes to Do you want to install this certificate message pop-ups as they appear.
15. Click Next and then Finish.
You should now be connected to eduroam.
