UFV-Alerts Staff Faculty Students emergency-notifications Email sms

UFV Alerts delivers emergency notifications (weather closures, power outages, and other urgent situations) by email and text.

Students, faculty, and staff can manage their message preferences at any time in myUFV on their UFV Alerts card or page.

Note: You are automatically enrolled to receive email notifications to your official UFV email address.

Text messages to your primary phone number are disabled by default.

Manage UFV Alerts Preferences

Card View in myUFV

1. Go to my.ufv.ca.

2. Go to My Account.

3. Find your UFV Alerts card.

Note: Use Search tool if card is not visible.

4. Review or use toggle buttons to update your preferences.

5. Click Save Preferences.

6. Once saved, a pop-up message confirms your preferences.

Change Alerts Info on File

Note: By default, UFV Alerts uses your primary phone number on file at UFV.

To change the phone number used, follow the instructions below.

1. Go to Personal Information.

If your My Profile page appears, choose Personal Information.

2. Under Phone Number, click + Add New.

3. For Phone Type, select UFV Alerts System.

4. Under Phone Number, enter your cell phone number.

Note: Use Canadian phone numbers only - extensions and international numbers are not supported.

5. Click Add.

6. The new phone number should now be displayed.

Note: It will take up to 24 hours to sync into UFV Alerts.
