Overview
IT Services can assist UFV employees and departments with software license transfers of previously purchased software between users or between workstations. This commonly occurs when staff leave a department and the software license for the previous employee needs to be transferred to a new employee.
You must be a member of the Authorized Account Requestors group (Department Heads / Assistants, Managers and above) to request a software license transfer.
NOTE: Adobe Acrobat and Microsoft Office software licenses do not need to be transferred.
Information Required
UFV employees can complete the Software License Transfer form to request the transfer of a software license of previously purchased software between users or between workstations. Please provide the following information when filling out the form:
- Transfer from and transfer to employee name(s)
- Department
- Workstation ID(s)
- Ticket ID for original software purchase
- Software name
- Transfer reason / details
Instructions
Click on the "Software License Transfer Request" button and complete all required fields on the form.
Only authorized requestors can submit the Software License Transfer request. Authorized requestors include:
- Departmental Assistant, Administrative Assistant (e.g., Executive Assistant, Program Assistant, etc.), or as authorized by Director, VP, or Dean
- Department Head
- Dean
- VP / AVP
- Director
- Manager
- Employees on the Exceptions List (internal list maintained by IT Services)
