Overview
A network data cable drop is typically a wall outlet with a special jack that allows a computer, phone, or printer to connect to the UFV network. As a general rule, each cubicle, office, or workspace may need a "drop" for the computer and another for the phone line. In some cases, a drop may be needed for a dedicated network printer or other device.
Staff and faculty can use this service to request a new network data cable drop be installed in an office, cubicle, or other workspace.
COSTS: There is an additional fee for this service. The total cost is dependent on several factors, including cable length and hours of labor it will take for installation. An approval from the Spending Authority of the budget code provided is needed.
NOTE: Please include a markup of the building floor plan with the approximate location where the network drop is needed as an attachment to this request.
