agsIf you are receiving multiple emails from an instructor that you are not taking classes with but the email does belong to your current class, your student Outlook email may have saved an incorrect Blackboard email contact in your Outlook Contacts folder. .
When a generic do-not-reply@blackboard.com email address is saved as a contact under one of your previous instructor's names, the contact acts like a “frequent contact” and changes the “from” display name to match what was saved in the contact.
To fix this issue, follow the steps below to search your Contacts for the generic Blackboard email reference and then delete it from your student email:
- Log in to your student email at Office.com using your student email address and password.
- Click on Contacts tab.
- Under Contact and Contacts Lists, scroll through and find any contacts referencing do-not-reply@blackboard.com.
- For each incorrect contact, select and use the top menu Delete button to remove.
- Also, check your Other Contacts list for the same email address do-not-reply@blackboard.com and delete as required.
