Overview
IT Services installs new and upgraded software used in all computer labs annually prior to each fall semester.
Prior to updating the lab software, IT Services will configure the general lab software image for compatibility testing and ensure program specific configuration requirements are met. For this reason, software requests must be submitted by the last business day of April to be included in the fall semester's software image.
Faculty and staff may use this service to request the installation of software or an upgrade to existing software on an ITS managed computer lab. This request may also be used for any ad hoc lab software requests that arise throughout each semester.
IMPORTANT: The deadline to submit a request for lab software to be included in the fall semester lab software image is the last business day of April.
Information Required
UFV faculty and staff can complete the Lab Software form to request installation of software on lab computers. Please provide the following information when filling out the form:
- Software owner
- Department
- Reason for the request
- Software details (name, version, product website)
- License type (details on the license type, license agreements, free academic software, etc.)
- Number of licenses
- Installation media (information on the media needed to install the software)
- Lab details (room, lab name)
