Troubleshooting access to UFV Library databases
If you receive a login error when trying to access an article, index or journal through the UFV Library databases, it may be due to several reasons.
You are not registered in the current semester:
You must be registered at UFV to access UFV Library databases off campus.
Visit the UFV Library service desk in person, as guests can ask for access to UFV Library databases only if they are on campus.
You cannot log into myUFV:
If you cannot log into myUFV, you won't be able to log into the UFV Library databases.
Try changing your password in myUFV and then wait 30 minutes to allow re-synchronization of your myUFV account to the UFV Library database system.
Other people cannot access any of the databases:
If you aware that others also cannot access any of the databases, there may be an issue with the Proxy Server at UFV that allows authentication resulting in a login error.
Please contact the
IT Service Desk
.
You cannot access one of the databases:
Sometimes external database site(s) become unavailable resulting in a login error.
UFV Library or IT Services is unable to assist when the error is external to UFV.
Try to test more access to more than one database to isolate the problem.
Also wait and try at a later time to access the external database.
