Verify, Update, or Reset Multi-Factor Authentication

International students: Ensure any registered MFA method(s) are your own and that you have access to them. If your agent registered their own device on your behalf, remove it and register a device that you own.

Update Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) Methods

If you need to change your MFA verification options, you can do so yourself:

  1. Navigate to https://myaccount.microsoft.com and sign in with your UFV account. Once signed in, click Security info in the left hand pane.
  2. To add a new method, click + Add method. To change or delete an existing method, click Change or Delete next to the option you wish to modify.

Verify you are Registered for MFA

If you aren't sure if you're registered for MFA,

  1. Navigate to https://myaccount.microsoft.com and sign in with your UFV account. Once signed in, click Security info in the left hand pane.
  2. If you see entries on this page, you are already registered for MFA and no further action is needed.

If this page is empty, you are not registered and you will need to follow the Combined Enrollment for MFA + SSPR guide.

I can't log in to update my MFA methods. How do I reset it?

If you cannot sign in with your MFA methods and/or cannot reset them yourself, please contact the IT Service Desk. They will be able to reset your MFA verification options for you.
