TelemetryTV - Overrides

Overrides are a way to take over a display on our TelemetryTV account without adjust other settings. Depending on the settings of the override, these can have sound with them.

This system is to be used for drills and emergencies.

Overrides should only be done by authorized teams or individuals. They can have negative repercussions if used improperly.


1. Login to TelemetryTV

2. Select the Overrides menu on the left side menuUploaded Image (Thumbnail)

3. Using the dropdown in the top left, select the location that you would like to add the override toUploaded Image (Thumbnail)

If you are just testing, the remainder of the article should take place in the "Tests" folder within the dropdown, but following the locations as otherwise laid out.

 

4. Press the blue "Create" button.

You should now see the "default" options. These are pre-defined templates for overrides provided by TelemetryTV.

If you have an image to be used for an override, please upload the media file to:

5. Once the media file or template has been selected, you will be presented with a different list of options on the right side of your screen depending on which one you chose.

5a. "Default" options

  • Name: Select a name for the override to be named when saved.
  • Message: The message that will be displayed to everyone.
  • Font: Not required to change. However, you can change this if you'd like.
  • Icon: The template you select sets this by default. This is the icon that will be displayed along with your message.
  • Background Color: The template you select sets this by default. If you'd like to change this, you can.
  • Alert Sound: If you don't want a sound to play on the displays make sure you select "Mute (No Sound)" from this list.
  • Override by: In most cases you will want to change this to Tag. This will allow you to type in location, room, or specific display you'd like. The list can be found here.
    • This can be set to Organization, and this will change the "Device Tag" entry box to an "Organization" dropdown. This will set the override for all displays owned by that department or group. If you want this put out on all, make sure you want this by setting the the "Departments" title.
    • This can also be set to a single device. This will change the "Device Tag" entry box to a selection for which display you'd like to show this on. This only allows a single display though, so in the majority of cases, this won't be useful.
  • Folder: Double-check where you're saving this so it doesn't get forgotten about and lost.
  • Device Tag: This is where you type in the tags that you'd like the  The list can be found here.
  • Scheduling: You can either set this as Immediate or Scheduled for your use case.

 

5b. Custom Media

  • Name: Select a name for the override to be named when saved.
