Windows 11 Language Setting

Use the Add a Language feature to download and install another language for Windows 10 so you can view menus, dialog boxes, and supported apps and websites in that language.

Download and install the Adding Language feature

  1. Select the Start button.
  2. Select Settings > Time & Language > Language.
  3. Add a language, select Preferred languagesUnder

  1. Under Choose a language to install, select or type the name of the language that you want to download and install
  2. Select Next.
  3. Under Install language features, accept the default settings in the language that you selected to download.
  4. Select Install.

Use the Language Feature

  1. Open a text document to use for testing.
  2. In system tray click on ENG and select the language, in this example, Japanese. The ENG will change to the language you selected. This can also be done by holding the Windows key and tapping the space bar one or more times to change the language.
  3. Open your document.
  4. Click on the A to change it to a Japanese symbol. Japanese types correctly.
  5. Click on the language icon to change back to A for English typing.
  6. To modify advanced settings, click on the preferred language and choose options.
  7. To un-install choose remove.
