Platform SSO
As part of the setup process, the device is registered for single sign on (SSO) with the employee's UFV account. This means employees will use the same login across all UFV devices and will not need to remember a separate password for their Mac. Some applications will also be able to auto login using the employee's credentials, instead of requiring the employee to enter them each time.
VPN
Managed Macs have the Cisco Secure Client installed as part of the standard setup. This application allows users to connect to UFV's network while working remotely, meaning employees can access Banner, Network Drives, and other UFV specific tools.
Network Drives
Employees are able to access their network drives on a managed Mac when it is connected to UFV's network. Employees can save their files to their drives and access them on any other device on UFV's network easily.
Adobe Signatures
UFV certified signatures are available in Adobe on managed Macs. For more information about Certificate-based signatures, please review Adobe's article Certificate-based signatures.
Drive Encryption
Managed Macs boast increased security with FileVault enablement. All files on the device's drive are encrypted and can only be unencrypted with the correct user credentials. Should a device be lost or stolen, data will remain safe.
Software Support
Standard UFV software such as M365 and Adobe will be automatically installed on devices during setup.
An application with some of UFV's available software is also installed on each device. Employees will be able to access and easily install software provided by UFV from this location. The list of software will continue to grow as highly requested applications are identified. UFV's IT department will also assist with software installations when needed.

Network Printing
At this time Network Printing is not available on Macs. This means employees using a Mac will not be able to directly print from their document/file to a UFV network printer/Secure Print, instead they will have to utilize UFV's Web Printing option.
