TelemetryTV - Uploading Content Procedure

The steps below expand on ticket tasks for when a user requests for a piece of content or media to go up on all displays at UFV. Remember to click complete on the ticket tasks as you work on it.

Storage Location

\\Application Services\TelemetryTV\Community Events

You can browse to this in MS Teams or the Sharepoint website. I'd also recommend pressing the … button and then "Add Shortcut to OneDrive". This way you can more easily access the content folder using OneDrive on your workstation.

(I will look in to a better location for this at a later date)

Naming Scheme

<expiry_date: YYYY-MM-DD> - <original_filename> - <ticket_id>.file_extension

This naming scheme allows our whole team to recognize information regarding the request without having to go searching. It helps when sorting by filename to see when something expires and gives us a ticket number to reference back to just in case.

Example:

Original Filename: FancyEvent Poster.png

Expiry: 2025-01-31

Ticket ID: 123456

New Name: 2025-01-31 - FancyEvent Poster - 123456.png

Time to Upload it to TelemetryTV!

Once the media is meant to be uploaded, this simple list of steps should get you to having it live. If the content is meant to go live later, I would suggest both making a calendar event for yourself and putting the ticket on hold until that date. This way you can upload that morning or that evening depending on what they'd like.

  • Login to TelemetryTV: TelemetryTV
  • Open Media
  • Go to UFV Shared Media
    • If the media is meant for just Abbotsford, go to the Abbotsford Only subfolder
    • If the media is meant for just Abbotsford, go to the Chilliwack Only subfolder
    • If the media is meant for just Abbotsford, go to the Mission Only subfolder
  • Press the blue Upload button, then either drag the media to the screen or browse to it
  • It will now be live immediately to the "Main Playlist"
  • Reply to the ticket to tell the user that their media is now live.
