Digital Signage (Mele) Player Installation & Configuration

Digital Signage (Mele) Player Installation:

The following instructions will guide you through the physical installation of a digital signage (Mele) player: 

  1. Open the box and connect the following accessories: 
  2. Dedicated 19V/6.32A USB Type-C Power Supply. 
  3. Device fasteners for accompanying wall mount bracket. 
  4. Install the wall mount bracket on wall or desk surface provided; Or alternatively, attached to the back of the display wall mounting bracket. NOTE – Ensure there is nothing blocking the Mini P.C’s heat syncs. This is a fanless device and proper ventilation is important. 
  5. Mount the Mele player onto the newly installed wall bracket and connect to the display using an HDMI cable. 
  6. Plug the device into a power source. 
  7. Connect a keyboard and mouse to your Mele player via USB to configure the player.

Digital Signage (Mele) Player Configuration: 

The following instructions will guide you through setting up and configuring the Mele player for TelemetryTV: 

  1. Connect your new Mele player to your display screen using an HDMI cable. 
  2. Plug the device into a power source using the enclosed power cable. 
  3. Connect a keyboard and mouse to your Mele player via USB. 
  4. Power on your display screen and the Mele player. Double-check that you are on the right input if you see nothing on the screen.

Once you see the device's settings page (access the Settings page at any time by pressing CTRL+S): 

  1. Under the NETWORK tab, set the NTP server to: 
    Abbotsford: 198.162.98.137/226 
    Chilliwack: 10.64.90.9 
  2. If the Player is using WiFi, it will need to be registered to UFV’s access List. The request form can be found here: Service—Internet of Things (IoT) Wi... 
  3. Under the NETWORK tab: 
    Set the WiFi SSID to U.F.V IoT 
  4. Enter the password provided from the network team. 
  5. Under the TIMEZONE tab: 
  6.  Set the time zone to Los Angeles (PDT) 
  7. Under the SCREEN LAYOUT tab select “Enable 4k” if the display requires a 4k compatible signal. 

When you've configured all the appropriate settings, click 'Done' in the top right corner. 

When you see the 6-digit pairing code on your display, pair the device using the Telemetry TV Application: 

  1. If you have administrative access, log on to TelemetryTV
  2. Under the DEVICES tab on the left-hand toolbar. 
  3. Then select LISTING from the top toolbar.
