Student access to Microsoft Teams

Microsoft Teams is a communication and collaboration tool that allows you to do one-on-one or group chat, join meetings and group calls, and share and collaborate on files. UFV lab computers have Microsoft Teams installed.

  1. You need to first login and access the Teams Web App in a computer lab or you can remote log in to MS Teams from off campus.
     
  2. Once logged into a UFV computer, double-click the Teams Web App desktop shortcut,

    or single-click the Teams Web App start menu icon.

     
  3. Enter your student UFV email address and select Next.

     
  4. Enter your password and select Sign In.

     
  5. If prompted to Stay signed in? select No, and select Never to the browser saving your password for next time.

     
  6. If promoted to download the Microsoft Teams desktop app, select the Use the Web App instead. Please do not download or install the desktop version of Microsoft Teams.

  7. Your opening MS Teams window will look similar to this.

  8. Once you are logged into Microsoft Teams, use the icons to access features.
  • Activity to see any updates in your collaborations.
  • Chat and then search to begin collaborating with your peers
  • Calendar to view your appointments and meetings (this syncs to your Outlook calendar).
  • Teams to see your Teams and Channels.
