Electronics repair and technical support for student devices
Student Device Support (SDS) provides current UFV students with software and hardware support of their personal devices such as mobile phones, laptops, and/or tablets.
Types of services provided for devices
- Support for all UFV centrally-delivered products and services
- PC and MAC hardware repairs, including data backup and recovery
- Support for Android and iOS devices
- Cell/tablet screen replacement
- Data recovery
- Upgrades and installations of software
- Virus and malware removal
- Technical advice
Check if you are eligible for SDS
To receive SDS services, you must be:
- Registered as a UFV student in the current semester
- Have a valid (non-expired) UFV Student Campus Card
- Have paid the SUS IT Service fee on your current term account balance
Costs and warranty for device service and support
- The electronics repair and technical support provided by Student Technology Analysts is free.
- The cost of hardware/parts or software required for repairs is the responsibility of the student.
- Warranty and liability reasons prevent Student Technology Analysts from completing repairs using new or used parts acquired directly by the student.
- The SDS program is operated by IT Services and is funded by the Student Union Society (SUS) IT Service Fee.
Where are devices repaired?
Student Technology Analysts repair and service student devices at two IT Service Desk locations:
- Building G on the Abbotsford campus (G131)
- Building A on the CEP campus (A1108)
