BIOS Upgrade

Overview

This article provides instructions on how to complete a BIOS upgrade on UFV computers from the Software Center.

Running BIOS upgrade from Software Center

1. If you are performing this upgrade off campus, please ensure that you are connected to Always On VPN.
   • Please refer to the KB article: Always ON VPN Connection Setup and Troubleshooting
2. Save and close any open documents before proceeding with the BIOS upgrade.
3. On the bottom left open Windows search, type Software Center and open it. 
4. Navigate to the Operating Systems on the left-hand side.
5. Click on BIOS-DELL Upgrade V220926. 
6. Select one of the options to decide when to upgrade BIOS.
   1. Click the Install option to upgrade BIOS now. 
   2. Click the Schedule option to upgrade BIOS outside business hours between 10 pm to 5 am. 
7. Select Install outside business hours -> OK. 

The process should take approximately 30 minutes to complete, after which your computer will restart and give you the option to log back in.
