Accessing Feedback Reports

Blue is an online software program you can access through your browser (Chrome, Safari, or Edge).

To log into Blue, you need your UFV employee ID and password.

1. Launch Blue at https://ufv.bluera.com.

2. If you are prompted to sign in, use your UFV username and password.

Blue Home is the page that you will first land on after logging in.

You will be able to manage and monitor your surveys, view reports, and open tasks from this page.

1. Search bar

Do a keyword search:

Locate a specific task or report.

2. Navigation menu

Use tabs at top of page to access different areas of the website: 

• Home
• Tasks
• Reports
• Bookmarks

3. Task Progress

Displays a list of your task(s) and their completion status:

• Open (not yet started)
• In Progress (started but incomplete)
• Completed (submitted and no tasks remaining)

4. My Reports

Displays reports assigned to you with the most recent at the top of the list.

You can access all Reports by either:

• Clicking the View All Reports button at the bottom of this section
• Clicking the Reports tab at the top of your Blue homepage

To view and open one Report in a new tab:

• Click on the Report Title

Quick access menu allows you to:

• View a report
• Download a report (in PDF format)
• Bookmark a report

6. My Active Tasks

You can access the Response Rate Monitor or Survey Period Dates:

• Click an Active Task
• See the Response Rate Monitor and Survey Period Dates for each course in this term’s Student Feedback on Teaching Survey.

To view reports from your Blue Home page

1. Go to the Reports section.

2. A list of Reports for your course(s) appears.

3. Click a Report title to open that specific report.

4. View your Report online or Download as PDF.

5. Filter your view by term when multiple terms exist.

View your assigned tasks with different filter options:

1. From your Blue home page, navigate to the Reports section.

2. Click a Report/Course Title opens the report online in a new window.

3. Apply Filter Menu Options: Category, Date Range, Availability, and My Filters (see descriptions below image).

Category

Your most recent Reports will appear at the top of the list.

Filter your reports list by category and subcategory by selecting term descriptors.

Date Range

Use the calendar to choose a date range.

To see Reports from specific years or semesters, click the Date Range filter at the top of the page, then select the From and To dates of the Reports you wish to see.

Availability

View Current or Archived Reports.

To see Reports that have been recently made available or ​made available some time ago for expired tasks.

My Filters

View your reports list by custom filters.

To save and reuse any combination of filters.

A: The Reliability Assessment Score (RAS) helps you understand how dependable your course survey results are, based on the number of student responses received.

When fewer students respond, the results may not represent the entire class and can be less reliable.

RAS is calculated using the error estimation bounds described in Elementary Survey Sampling by Richard L. Scheaffer et al.

Your report will display a simple reliability label: Good, Sufficient, or Insufficient.

Reliability Labels Explained

Good
Enough students responded to interpret results with strong confidence.

Sufficient
Results can be interpreted, but use caution.

Insufficient
Too few responses to confidently reflect the whole class.

A: The bound of error estimate measures the level of uncertainty in your survey results because not all students responded.

• When many students respond: You can be highly confident that the average scores represent the entire class.
• When few students respond: Results may reflect only a small subset of students, making them less reliable.

This estimate is used to calculate the Reliability Assessment Score (RAS), which provides a quick indicator of how dependable your results are.

Reliability Labels Explained

• Good
  Enough responses to interpret results with strong confidence.
• Sufficient
  Results can be interpreted, but use caution.
• Insufficient
  Too few responses to confidently reflect the whole class.

A: Reports are not available immediately after surveys close.

They are released only after:

1. Final grades for the term have been submitted, and

2. The Dean’s three-week review period is complete.

If no students responded for a course, the system (Blue) will not generate a report.

Still can’t see a report you believe should be available?

Email HR Information Systems & Analytics for assistance.

A: No. Results are first released to Deans and Academic Leadership for a quality review period.

After this review is complete, reports are made available to individual faculty members.

A. If you have concerns about a specific student comment, please contact your Dean’s Office.

HR does not edit or remove student comments in the Blue system.
