Overview
The Provincial Tuition Waiver Program helps remove financial barriers for former youth in care of any age by waiving tuition and fees at B.C. public post-secondary institutions, including UFV.
Please note this notification informs Financial Aid of your intent to register in order to defer all fees covered under the waiver. This is not a waiver application – to apply for a Provincial Tuition Waiver for UFV contact Financial Aid & Awards.
Eligibility
You may be eligible if you:
- Were on any B.C. care status when you turned 19.
- Are studying in an undergraduate program at an eligible B.C. public post-secondary institution.
The waiver:
- Covers tuition and mandatory fees.
- Students may qualify for the Learning for Future Grant (up to $3,500 per program year) for books, supplies, and other educational costs.
How to apply?
- Visit StudentAid BC to review eligibility and download the Provincial Tuition Waiver Program and Learning for Future Grant Application form.
- Complete the form using Adobe Acrobat Reader and save it as a PDF.
- Submit your completed application in pdf format to UFV Financial Aid & Awards (by email to financial.aid@ufv.ca or in person).

Continuing next semester?
If you have previously been approved for the Provincial Tuition Waiver and are registering in the upcoming semester, you must submit a “B.C. Provincial Tuition Waiver Registration Notification form” prior to your allotted registration date each semester.
Click on the “Submit Provincial Tuition Waiver Registration Notification” button and complete all required fields on the form.
Note: Applicants must have previously been approved for the Provincial Tuition Waiver Program prior to filling out this form.
