Outlook: View Public Folders and Post a UFV Classified Item

UFV Classifieds is a public group used as an online bulletin board for employees to post personal classified messages.

Add a public folder in the Outlook Desktop Application

In the Outlook desktop version, find your public folders from the Outlook Folder List within the Navigation Pane:

  1. Click the More More button icon in the lower-left corner area of your Outlook folder pane.

  1. Click the Folders icon from the pop-up menu.

     
  2. At the bottom of your folder list, find and expand your Public Folders by clicking on the > arrow.

  3. To see Classifieds, choose the > arrow next to the Public Folders icon.

  4. Choose Classifieds to view the list of emails within this folder.

  5. Add Classifieds as a shortcut to your main menu: Right-click on Classifieds then from the drop-down menu that appears, choose Add to Favorites.

  6. To post to the UFV Classifieds, find your Classifieds folder in your Favorites and click on Classifieds to select it, then click on New Post.


     
  7. Type a Subject and your Message, then Post. When a post is no longer relevant, the post needs to be removed.

 

Add a public folder in the Outlook Web Application

  1. In an Internet browser, log in to Outlook Web using your UFV employee email credentials.
     
  2. Right-click Folders and select Add public folder to Favorites from the drop-down menu.

  3. Wait for the Add Public Folder window to appear, then click on All Public Folders to expand and see subfolders such as Classifieds.

  1. Click on Classifieds or the subfolder you want to use.

  1. Click Add Public Folder.

  1. Close the Add a Public Folder window using the X in top right corner.
     
  2. Your added public folder appears in your Favorites section at the top of web Outlook.

     
  3. Click on Classifieds to select it.

     
  4. Click New Post.

     
  5. Type a Subject and your Message.

     
  6. Click Post. When a post is no longer relevant, the post needs to be removed.
