Educational Technology


UFV recognizes that teaching in this extraordinary time may require the use of software or other digital tools to be successful. With so many products available on the market, UFV cannot centrally provide or support every one you may want to use. As such, a fund has been created to allow instructors to incorporate new software on a one-time, individual basis. However, there are some conditions required to access this fund. All approved software must be reviewed to ensure that it can be used in compliance with BC’s Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act (FIPPA) and must pass legal review. Additionally, there will be no technical support offered or made available by UFV for these requests due to the already high demand. The software / digital tool license is limited to no more than $350.  In order to expedite this process, once approved, UFV will reimburse these funds through the expense reimbursement process.

Please do not submit this request if the software requires student personal information to be shared either by the student or the instructor. This fund can not be used for software requests that require the use of student personally identifiable information.

Click on the "Submit Educational Technology Request" button and fill out the form with the required information.  Once the ticket is submitted you will be able to view your ticket for status updates in the IT Services Online Portal. Once your request is approved, you may purchase the software (up to $350) and submit an expense reimbursement form.
