UFV students and employees can securely access UFV campus Wi-Fi using eduroam, a free international wireless service.
Note: Your initial UFV Wi-Fi setup must be completed while on a UFV campus.
After setup, your UFV eduroam credentials can be used to connect at any eduroam-participating institution worldwide.
Guides to connecting to UFV eduroam Wi-Fi
Choose your type of device:
Connect to UFV Wi-Fi:
iPhone and iPad
1. Join eduroam-help network
- Go to Settings → Wi-Fi
- Select eduroam-help.
2. Download eduroam installer
- Open a browser and go to:
https://cat.eduroam.org.
- Tap Click here to download your eduroam installer.
- Search fraser, select University of the Fraser Valley, then tap eduroam.
3. Install configuration profile
- Allow the download when prompted.
- Go to Settings → General → VPN & Device Management.
- Tap Eduroam Profile → Install.
- Enter your passcode, and confirm all install prompts.
4. Sign in
- Enter your UFV email and password.
- Tap Done.
You should now be connected to eduroam.
Connect to UFV Wi-Fi:
Android
NOTE: Before You Begin
1. Join eduroam-help network
- Go to Settings → Wi-Fi
- Select eduroam-help.
2. Download eduroam installer
- Open a browser and go to:
https://cat.eduroam.org.
- Tap Click here to download your eduroam installer.
- Search fraser, select University of the Fraser Valley, then tap eduroam.
- When prompted, click Continue (you already installed geteduroam).
- Click Download to get the configuration file.
3: Configure with geteduroam
- Open your browser Downloads and select the eduroam-eap-generic file.
- The geteduroam app will launch.
- Enter your UFV email and password.
- When asked to save the network, click Save.
You should now be connected to eduroam.
Connect to UFV Wi-Fi:
MacOS
1. Join eduroam-help network
- Click Wi-Fi icon in Control Center (top-right corner).
- Select eduroam-help.
2. Download eduroam installer
- Open Safari and go to:
https://cat.eduroam.org.
- Click Click here to download your eduroam installer.
- Search Fraser and select University of the Fraser Valley.
- Click the eduroam button.
- When prompted, click Allow to permit downloads.
3: Install the Profile
- Open Settings.
- Go to Privacy & Security → Profiles.
- Double-click Eduroam Profile.
- Click Install, then Continue.
- Enter your UFV email and password.
- Click Install again.
You should now be connected to eduroam.
Connect to UFV Wi-Fi:
Windows
1. Join eduroam-help network
- Click Wi-Fi icon (bottom-right system tray).
- Click right-pointing arrow next to Wi-Fi (ensure Wi-Fi is on).
- Select eduroam-help and click Connect.
2. Download the Installer
- Open Microsoft Edge and go to:
https://cat.eduroam.org.
- Click Click here to download your eduroam installer.
- Search Fraser and select University of the Fraser Valley.
- Click the eduroam button.
- When the file finishes downloading, click Open.
3. Install and Configure
- Click Next on the popup.
- Click OK.
- Enter your UFV email and password (twice).
- Click Install.
- When prompted with certificate messages, click Yes.
- Click Next, then Finish.
You should now be connected to eduroam.
