Windows 'Open with' this application

Add "Open with" to your Windows 10 menu to allow you to choose to open your files with a software application. For example: You may want to use this feature to open a Financial Aid Banner report with Excel.

Steps to using Windows 10 'Open with':

In this example, we would like Windows to open our file in the Excel application:

1. Right-click over the file you wish to open
2. Choose Open with 
3. Choose Choose another app

4. Scroll down and see More options

The Windows Explorer screen will pop up showing your files. Depending on how the program browses, below is the usual location of the Excel.exe but the file path may vary:  

C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\root\Office16\

5. Locate and select Excel.exe

6. Click Open.

Your Excel application will now be available using a right-click and the menu option “open with...”.
