Reclassify Junk Email

Summary

Reclassify junk mail messages that may have been targeted as suspected spam emails and filtered to your junk email folder.

Body

Rather than blocking suspected spam emails, IT Services will redirect them to your Outlook Junk mail folder for you to review.

Please regularly check your Junk folder and reclassify any emails that are not junk. This will help improve future spam detection.

Find the Junk Folder

The Junk folder is a default folder in your UFV student or employee mailbox.

To access it, log into your email using the Outlook desktop app or through a browser at outlook.com.

You will see a list of folders on the left-hand side.

Locate the folder named Junk or Spam and click to open it.

Mark email as junk

If an email is in the Junk folder, leave it there—no action needed.

If an email is in your inbox or another folder, drag it to the Junk folder to help improve spam detection.

You can also set up an inbox rule to automatically move emails from certain senders to the Junk folder.

Mark email as not junk

1. Move the email to your Inbox or another folder.
2.
Add the sender or domain to your Safe Senders List to prevent future emails from being marked as junk.
