This article shows how to install SPSS 29 campus software for employees and students on a personal Mac computer. Software install files can be obtained from gateway.ufv.ca by following the steps below:

  1. Go to gateway.ufv.ca.
  2. Login using the credentials listed below:
    1. Student
      • Username: Student ID (e.g. 300123456)
      • Password: myUFV password
    2. Employee
      • Username: AD username i.e. lastnameFirstInitial/s (e.g. doej)
      • Password: UFV email password
  3. For Students navigate to Student\Instructor_files\SPSS\Mac OS\29
    • For Employees navigate to Employee\Public\Campus Software\_licensed\CAMPUS\23.009 SPSS 29\MAC
  4. Download IBM_SPSS_STATISTICS_CLIENT_29.0.2.0.pkg UFV myFiles
  5. Double-click on the package to run: Downloaded file
  6. Click on Continue to begin the installation. Install IBM SPSS Statistics dialog box
  7. Read the Read Me section and then click Continue. Important information under Read Me section of Install IBM SPSS Statistics dialog box
  8. Review the License Agreement and click Continue. License Information and license agreement
  9. Click Agree to accept the License Agreement. Click Agree to accept the License Agreement
  10. Enter your credentials to install the software. Enter your credentials to install the software in Installer
  11. Click Close to finish the installation. The installation was successfully completed
  12. Launch the SPSS software and click Launch License Wizard when you get this pop-up window. IBM SPSS Statistics - License not valid pop-up window
  13. Select the Second option: Concurrent user License highlighted in the image and click Next. Product Authorization under IBM SPSS Statistics Licensing window
  14. Enter the following address “gandalfgrey.bc.net” and click Next.
  15. This window ensures licensing is complete. Select Restart. Restart pop up
  16. SPSS will relaunch and check the Default box next to Local Computer when you get this pop-up window. Select OK.Make local computer as default server
