MFA: Setup Phone (Text/Call)

Setup MFA on your mobile device using text or call

SMS/Phone verification is not recommended. We recommend using the more reliable Authenticator App. Texts or calls may not be received if your reception is poor, you change phone numbers, travel abroad, or your carrier experiences issues.

  1. From a computer, go to https://aka.ms/mfasetup

  2. Click +Add Method and select Phone from the dropdown. Fill out your phone number and select Text me or Call me (your preference).

Text me will text you a 6-digit code you can use to sign in.

Call me will send your phone an automated call, you will press the pound key (#) to verify your sign in.

          3. Click Next. Verify setup was complete by entering the 6-digit code (if you chose Text me) or answering the call (if you chose Call me).
